Saturday, February 2, 2018, in the context of “Doors Open to the Natural Reserve of Lake Sibolla” was held a workshop entitled “Discover the Life “SOS Tuscan Wetlands“.
Organized by the Municipality of Altopascio, the initiative dedicated to Lake Sibolla has embraces the whole weekend with visitis, excursions in the wetlands of the reserve and other encironmental and cultural initiatives.
To do the honours of the house the mayor of Altopascio Sara D’Ambrosio, guests Federica Fratoni, Regional Councilor for the environment and soil defense of Tuscany Region, and Stefano Baccelli, Regional Councilor and member of the Institutional Commission for the Recovery Economic-Social of coustal Tuscany.
Elena Tricarico of the University of Florence, Cristiano Nardini of the Consorzio 4 Basso Valdarno, Alessio Bartolini from the Center of Documentation of Padule of Fucecchio, Michele Giunti of Nemo and Francesco Lanini of Nemo, a part of the team of experts who has actively collaborated in the Project, highligted the reasons that led to the birth of this project for the preservation of biodiversity in Lake Sibolla and in the Paduletta of Ramone and illustrated the results obtained. As described extensively during the interventions, the aline species present in the areas have decreased considerably as a result of the actions that have been completed in the 5 years of project, an encouraging positive sign towards the recovery of habitat very important and unique that must be protected.
